Who is responsible

This policy covers the KMSPL league app at app.kmspl.ca and its hosted website. KMSPL uses the app to organize league activities and communicate with members. For privacy questions, access or correction requests, or help deleting information, contact Joe Rainone at rainone99@gmail.com.

Information we use

• Registration and accounts: your name, registration email, account verification information, protected password records, sign-in sessions, and page access associated with the league’s App Info records.
• Profile and preferences: your chosen profile photo, display preferences and notification settings.
• League activity: teams, ratings, statistics, attendance, duties, spare and replacement requests, applications, approvals, refusals, confirmations, cancellations and their timestamps. Administrators may view spare payment status recorded by the league; the app does not collect payment-card details.
• Communications: team and league chat messages, announcements and attachments, reports of inappropriate messages, blocked users and moderation decisions.
• Technical information: necessary cookies and browser storage, visit-session counts and daily signed-in account usage, and information processed by hosting services to deliver and protect the app, such as connection details and error logs. A random first-party visitor cookie (renewed for up to 90 days of inactivity) estimates daily public browsers. The database stores a one-way hash of that identifier, daily page visits and whether that browser used a verified account. It does not use IP addresses or fingerprinting for these counts. If that browser signs in, it is not also counted as a public browser for that day and page. Clearing cookies or using different browsers can create additional estimated visitors.

Information comes from you, league administrators and the league’s Google Sheets records. Providing a profile photo is optional.

Why we use it

We use this information to verify accounts, provide the pages you are authorized to use, organize games and player availability, maintain league records, deliver messages and notifications, respond to support requests, moderate chat, prevent misuse, and keep the app reliable. Visit and unique-user counts help administrators understand app usage.

The current app does not include advertising trackers or sell personal information.

Who can see information

League information such as names, teams, ratings, statistics and game participation is visible through relevant league pages. Team chat is visible to users with access to that team’s chat; league chat is visible to signed-in league users. Coaches, ratings committee members and administrators can view information needed for their assigned functions. Administrators review message reports; reports are not posted to the chat.

Blocking a user hides their chat messages for you. It does not remove their messages for everyone, hide your messages from them, or hide league announcements and game updates. Do not post confidential information in chat.

Service providers and external links

Google Sheets, Google Apps Script and Google Drive support league records, account services, verification emails and workbook backups. OpenAI Sites and its Cloudflare hosting and storage infrastructure deliver the app and store app data and recovery snapshots. These providers process information as needed to operate their services; processing may occur outside your province or country.

Links to registration forms, league websites and external spreadsheets open separate services with their own privacy practices and access settings. League records shared outside this app may remain accessible through those services.

Cookies, saved pages and security

The app uses sign-in cookies and browser storage to remember sessions, preferences and saved information, and to load pages quickly while checking for updates. Clearing browser data removes local saved copies and may require you to sign in again. Sign out when using a shared device.

Connections to the app use HTTPS. Password verification uses protected password hashes, and server-side checks restrict access. These measures reduce risk, but no system can guarantee absolute security. Never send your password or verification code to support or in chat.

Retention, deletion and backups

Account and activity information is retained while needed to provide the app, administer the league, maintain historical records, resolve issues and protect the service. You can request deletion from Profile → Delete account and confirm your choice, or contact Joe Rainone if you cannot sign in. Access is disabled when the deletion request is accepted; background processing removes the app account, profile settings, photo, posts and associated personal app settings.

Deleting your app account does not delete your league registration, past statistics, game history or historical request records. Contact Joe separately to request access, correction or removal of league records. We will explain which records can be removed and any reasons for retaining them. A limited deletion marker is retained to prevent deleted-account data from being restored accidentally.

Private automated app-data backups have a 30-day retention target; expired copies are removed during successful backup runs. Recovery procedures carry forward account deletions. Separately downloaded backups, Google workbook copies and Google version history have separate retention and may keep older information beyond 30 days. Contact Joe about these copies. A deletion request cannot remove copies another user has already saved independently.

Phone notifications

If you enable phone notifications, we store your device’s push subscription and encryption keys with your account, plus delivery records to avoid duplicate alerts. Notifications use your browser or phone provider, such as Apple, Google or Mozilla. Message previews may appear on your lock screen according to your phone settings. Turn notifications off in Profile or your phone settings. App account deletion removes these subscriptions. Installation and notification permission are optional.

Your choices and questions

You can update supported profile details and preferences, adjust available notification settings, report messages, block or unblock users, and request account deletion. Email rainone99@gmail.com to ask what information we hold about you, request a correction, or raise a privacy concern. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

The app is intended for participants in the adult league and is not designed for children. Contact us if you believe a child’s information has been provided in error.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page and its effective date when our practices change. Material changes will be brought to members’ attention through an appropriate app notice or league communication.
